We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations and work daily to support environmental sustainability. It is important to us to also offer our guests the opportunity to act responsibly during their stay. Please sort your waste as follows:

1) BIODEGRADABLE WASTE: Food waste and other biodegradable materials. Use the provided paper bag for biodegradable waste.

2) OTHER RECYCLABLE MATERIALS: Recyclable waste (such as paper, cardboard, plastic, mixed packaging materials) can be placed next to the waste bins. Our staff will take care of sorting these for you. Find a detailed list of recyclable materials via the QR code.

• Paper and cardboard: For newspapers, magazines, paper, cardboard boxes, and other paper products.
• Glass: For glass bottles, jars, and other glass items.
• Energy waste: For combustible waste, such as soiled paper and plastics.
• Metal: For metal cans, aluminum foil, and other metal items.
• Electronics: For small electrical devices and batteries.

3) MIXED WASTE: All waste that cannot be sorted into the other recycling bins.

Green Luxury

We aim to offer our guests luxury – but sustainably and with respect for the environment. Here are some practical measures we have taken to reduce our environmental impact:

• We have set annual reduction targets for energy, water, and waste consumption.
• 90% of all our lights are energy-saving, and our bathrooms are equipped with Hans Grohe water-saving showers.
• We continually strive to reduce the amount of chemicals used in cleaning. All cleaning agents used in the daily cleaning of rooms are eco-labeled. We do not use trash bags in room bins.
• We value the old – we prefer to repair items rather than discard them.
• We promote cycling: it’s not only an eco-friendly option, but also the most fun, convenient, and fastest way to get around the city.

Every Towel Counts

Have you ever wondered if changing your towel daily makes a practical difference for the environment while staying at a hotel? It does: laundry accounts for about 16% of hotels' water consumption.

• Bed linens are changed every third day. Leave the eco-card on the bed if you want the sheets changed more frequently.
• To change your towel, leave it on the floor. Otherwise, hang the towel to reuse it.

Also, remember these tips:

Small individual actions can have huge cumulative effects.

• Turn off the air conditioning if you open the windows. Turn off the power when you leave the room.
• We recommend the world’s freshest tap water instead of bottled water.
• Leave unnecessary paper waste (like newspapers and brochures) on the table for housekeeping to collect for recycling.
• Choose cycling or public transport! Helsinki has a versatile public transport system, and there is a train to the airport from Helsinki Central Station every 20 minutes.
• You can leave used batteries at the reception – we will recycle them for you.
• You won’t find disposable products in our rooms. If you forgot your toothbrush or shaving kit, you can request them at the reception.
